Aubrey Johnson


Aubrey Johnson is a New York-based vocalist, composer, and educator who specializes in jazz, Brazilian, and creative contemporary music. She has held faculty positions at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory, and currently teaches in the jazz voice programs at Queens College in New York City, and Montclair State University in New Jersey. Aubrey recorded on Bobby McFerrin’s 2010 Grammy-nominated release, VOCAbuLaries. She has performed with the Lyle Mays Quintet, Jimmy Cobb, John Patitucci, Janis Siegel, John Zorn’s Mycale Vocal Quartet, and Fred Hersch. Her performing and teaching has taken her throughout the US and Canada and to Central and South America, Europe, and China. Aubrey’s debut album of original jazz compositions and arrangements will be released in 2018.
